  i watched casablanca last night.

  rick blaine is cyncial and an alcoholic.. but, he rises above his malaise to do the "right thing" to make the world a better place.

  he realizes he doesn't need to sacrifice love or life to do it--he only has to incorporate a larger view of what is valuable into his life and exchange something valuable to achieve it.. in other words, this film has a vision that allows an ideal through behavior by demonstrating a greater opportunity than mere complaint, destruction or self-destruction.

  Why didn't this moron use the example of studying and qualifying to be a heart surgeon or a scientist and the many many other useful careers that benefit the human race why pick on philosophy although this obviously helps the human race if he thought about it for a moment .I suppose he thinks that philosophy messes with ones mind well he will never be enlightened if he thinks that.

  What he really is saying is come and work for us give us the benefit of your youthful energy and acumen come and create our wealth and status in Watchtower land .

  Look what you get in return for following the advice of Morris Minor absolute zilch . They have been handing out that no education advice decade after decade it is so like driving up a cul de sac when you need to get on the motor way.

  Through the chair , I will second that.

  I propose that after the Sunday meeting refresments will be served while everyone mingles .Refreshments to include sandwiches tea and coffee .

  I also propose that a licence to serve alcohol is applied for PDQ.

  They would still need trained key people assigned for the ministry or if you like sales people to follow up leads gained from the internet but they would be specially vetted the sales room would be the Kingdom Hall of course. As for control the control would come through making sure people are frightened enough to attend meetings and continue to donate.

  Of course all this is dependant on whether the GB have done their market research and you can bet they have explored different options.The Org. has changed tactics throughout its history its changing before our eyes.

  But it's all speculation at the moment.

  Only time will tell.

  If the imminent changes in Watchtower land have nothing to do with the door to door work that still leaves them with a hell of a problem as far as having unchecked people doing Watchtower work going from door to door meeting the public .They have still got to fix that problem . My gut feeling is, and I ask myself if I was a GB member , which part of the Org. is the most vunerable legally and the answer has got to be among the mass of so called representatives in the so called ministry.

  Brooklyn can now claim that through the internet they are preaching the good news of God's Kingdom throughout the World they don't need people going from door to door en mass in order to reach people they can operate in any country they like thanks to the Web they can hook people effectively through the written and spoken word on line. They can operate a system of recruitment more efficiently by using less and less people as long as they can get them studying ,donating and into to the Kingdom Halls.

  The bottom line is which system sells the most books or brings in the most money without the legal ramifications.
